Ah, the thought-provoking (or was that coma-provoking?) question to all new parents with a newborn, Where'd the sleep go?? This is Joel posting, btw.
I really can't complain. I had two full weeks off on Paternal Leave that I took before and after Thankgiving week. This allowed us to extend the time when I was home able to help. As such I slept mostly soundly at night, and then let Natalie sleep in and take a nap when she needed. It was great!
Now that time has passed. Fortunately Kimball, for the most part, goes to sleep around 11 and only wakes up to eat, with few exceptions, during the night. Natalie is still feeling the sleep-deprivation, but I'm trying to help by letting her sleep in as long as possible, and we try to go to sleep when Kimball goes down. So far so good!
We're excited for the little dude. He's already starting to look around and looks very interested when mom or dad's heads hover above him. He does have a cranky streak where he cries until he's purple, but they don't last long and usually feeding him ends it.
I hope everyone is doing well!

Here's hoping the sleep gets better soon! I'm excited for little Kimball too!
Reminds me of a guy in testimony meeting who said he would wake up in the night to see his wife nursing their new baby on the edge of the bed. He said he was so grateful because "I've got this thing about sleep." Like, who doesn't!
Glad to hear from you again! It's totally understandable with all you have on your collective plate now. I remember the guy Dad has talked about; what a jerk! It's great to see you are so supportive of each other. Your Dad would get up every other night to feed Joel & Kevin, our premature twins; it worked great because we always knew we could get a good night's sleep every other night. Keep up the great work!
I'm glad that you are helping out so well! I can't wait to see the little guy again!
Thanks, I do remember that story of the guy with a thing about sleep. Your responses are mine: "Who doesn't have a thing about sleep??"
Something tells me he couldn't stay the same whe they started getting more than one child!
