Erin Go Braugh!

Happy (late) St. Patty's Day! This year, we celebrated in STYLE. It all started with a little post I read at Lulu's Tiles. So, I decided to do my own version for Parker
(Yes, this is what happened BEFORE school started, so I was a little discouraged... should have used a stronger Heat-n-Bond.) Kimball even Joel got in on the action (the man has ZERO green in his closet)
and Stewart's turned out the best! front back tough guy (don't be fooled -- he was totally playing for the camera!) We also had our traditional St. Patrick's Day milk and this year I tried something new -- writing on bread. It was really easy! You just add some food coloring to a little milk (make it DARK green) and paint it on. I totally recommend doing this with grilled cheese, because the bread just didn't dry out like I wanted it to, and I'm afraid Parker's was a little soggy at school, because he just had a regular cheese sandwich sandwich (wow -- runon!). Now I'll know for next year.

YUMMY!

One last thing... about a month ago, Mrs. Hall (Parker's teacher -- I'm the room mom for her) mentioned that maybe I could do a little treat for the kids. Well, I had this great idea... that I totally procrastinated. So, instead I have ONE little pin for Mrs. Hall, but this is how it turned out:
While I was researching the Irish flag, I came across this information: the current Irish flag was adopted in 1848 to represent the people of Ireland -- Green for Irish Catholics, Orange for Irish Protestants, White for peace between the two. It made me so sad to realize that it took THAT LONG for them to come to the truce that exists today. I hope they can continue to encourage the WHITE. So, all-in-all, we had a GREAT St. Pat's. Hope you did, too!

Adorable! I love your creative ideas. Joel must have inherited his lack-of-greenness from me--I wore an aqua skirt and top and a shamrock pin. Pretty pathetic! I want one of those shirts!

I wore a green tie (creative, huh?). One guy didn't and excused himself because "I'm not Irish." After that humbuggery, I was really delighted to see what you had done. Keep the fun coming!

Pinch Proof! That's awesome! I remember having green milk one year... though it may have been for April Fools Day, but same idea. Very cool stuff!
