A couple of days ago, I found (for the twenty-seventh time) a roll of film. I have always wondered what long-lost treasures could be on this roll of film -- would they be more "artsy" pictures of trees at the Reunion? funny pictures of my brothers & sisters? I took it to Maceys (the grocery store I was already going to), and the sad truth is, that was a completely blank roll of film. They didn't make me pay for the "pictures", but I was still sad. Not only did I lose those unknown pictures, but back when I had a 35mm camera, film was EXPENSIVE -- I could have gotten at least a couple of candy bars with that money, instead of film!
Kevin took some pictures of our family last Saturday -- he did a great job! There are some really cute ones (you'll see later), but we had a ton of cloud cover, so the pictures are really dark. I knew I needed to adjust the exposure, and I'd just seen some photo editing done through a website called
picnik.com. So, I thought I'd give it a try. This is our "serious" picture -- I think you'll agree that we are being as serious as possible! I'm especially proud of Kimball :) These are some of the "masks" I used (most were found in the "create" tab):
Original

Adjusted exposure (better already!)

Film grain (this is subtle)

Vignette & boost

Orton-ish (click on this one to really see it)

Cross-process
So... what's your favorite look?

My vote is the cross process--it really brings out the blue eyes!
adjusted exposure or cross process. ya'll are really cute! i think Parker and Paige have the most believable faces, kudos to them.
Colton says he likes the "Orangey day" picture. Translation: cross-process
I like adjusted exposure the best. People on the train tracks...yikes!
I like the vignette from a distance and adjusted exposure close up. I really like parker's face!! He really took the seriousness seriously!!! you guys all look so good though; I love it!
I agree that the cross process brings out the blue eyes, but I'm not a fan of the orange look. Put me down for the adjusted exposure.
Cross process gives you that artsy Waltons look, which I rather like. Too bad people have to misspell words like "picnic" so they can copyright it. Just confuses things.
I like the vignette and boost...
