Some days I won't miss...

by Natalie

There are some days in this stay-at-home life of mine that I definitely won't miss. The day I yelled at my kids so loud I was afraid one of the neighbors (or all of them!) heard me (FYI: that was the day I found one of my kids touching another of my kids with his private part, and just reacted). There was the day when I was sick, but Joel had a ton of meetings and I just had to muddle through. And then there are the days that aren't so bad, but not really great, either. Days when nobody gets played with. Days when nothing gets clean. Days that just don't feel quite right, and feel like big fat ugly failures.

That being said, there are so many days I LOVE to pull out of my memory and remember. Blessed days like the day Joel COULD stay home because I was so tired and worn out I needed a "sick day". Fun days like the first day of spring when we just play and play and play outside because it's finally warm enough to do it. Proud days like the days Stewart and Parker first rode their bikes. Exciting days like the other day when we got to watch someone else's kids because they were having a new baby. Sweet days when my babies snuggle and snuggle and snuggle. Funny days like the day Parker pooped while he was facing the toilet ("I thought it was just a toot, Mama!").

Yeah, sometimes this life is a hard one. Sometimes I can't even tell you why it's hard, because it's everything I've ever wanted. But I'll tell you this -- no matter how infrequently they come, this life is always worth those good days -- especially the funny ones!
