Wasp Encounter

Poor Stewart got a wasp sting last Friday. We were putting lights on the trailer for the MAIDEN VOYAGE -- our ward's annual Father & Sons Outing. They usually go camping, and Joel thought it would be a great opportunity to try out the trailer before we go for real to the Reunion. What we didn't know was that some wasps had made their nest under the awning, which was rolled up and put away, but still had enough room for a little nest. One kept buzzing around, so I went for the fly swatter -- I know, I know, that never works for wasps. I told the boys to go far away, but Stewart went behind me -- NOT far away -- and I didn't see he was close when I went for the wasp. Making it very, very angry. It barely touched Stewart, but apparently the stinger was all ready to do its job. After a couple of minutes, it had already stopped hurting, and he was pretty excited to have a funny Dory (from Finding Nemo) band-aid.

Awwww, just look at that sad face! But stalwart Stewart doesn't cry for long! (Unless it's late and he's up, or just needs to go to the bathroom)

Kevin forgot to say "or if someone drops a hat." Really, though, wasp stings are not fun. I had my first one at his age and I went yelling and screaming to mommy.

Eeek!! I swelled up something nasty when I was stung by a wasp. I don't recommend it...
