I just read my March 2009 Ensign, and in it there is an article about Conference activities to do with young kids -- hurray! One of them is so great -- it said to print out some simple words for kids to listen for in each session, and they get a treat every time they hear the word. Well, my kids will do almost anything for a treat! So we're going to do that, but I couldn't think of only four, and I found pictures for 6 things, so I think I'll let them decide what they want to listen for in each session. I'm printing a sheet that has pictures and words, so Paige can even listen, and then I'm going to mount them on some pretty cardstock, and hopefully I'll be able to laminate them soon.
I think my finished sheet looks pretty good, don't you?

If you want to use this idea, just click on the picture to make it huge, right-click to copy it, and paste it into a Word document that has .5" borders. Enlarge or reduce the picture so it's right at the margins. Cut everything out on the lines, get some mini jelly beans (what we're using!) or some M&Ms, and listen to conference! Happy pajama church!

Finally, something I can do during Conference! LOL
Did you know that General Conference was the ONLY time we ever got Froot Loops? We had breakfast as usual, then when conference started, we each got a small bowl of fruitiness to savor. As I got older I learned to eat them slowly so they would last practically the entire session!
That wouldn't work for our boys, though. We like cereal entirely too much at our house, and fruit loops are fairly common.
What a great idea! And yes, I love the concept of pajama church. I guess I'm getting old!
The heck with the kids! I want to do that. My favorite activity during conference is to lie across the end of the bed and watch. Then I realize I can just close my eyes and listen. Who needs to see the talking head? And then . . . well, you know the end of this sad story.
Great job, Natalie! That looks like a great way to engage the kids (candy does wonders, does it not?). I'm so excited for Conference!!!
Hi Natalie! Lauri showed me your blog, super cute!
Now as Conference is underway... I'm wondering how it's going!
