When I got into work this morning I noticed that I'd missed 3 calls. I looked at the number and didn't recognize it right off the bat. I shrugged and began my work day, but the same number called back shortly after I'd sat down at my desk.
I was surprised to hear Christina's voice on the other end! I'd known she'd gone to the hospital a few hours back. She'd quickly gone through the whole process and was done.
She is a new mother! Mia Shenendoah Gentile is a beautiful baby girl at 7 pounds. I must say that Natalie was one of the few who guessed correctly on the gender. As she likes to point out to me, she's always right. ;-) Kevin originally said a boy, but a few weeks back Natalie asked him what he thought the gender would be. He said girl, but I consider that a John Kerry-type flip-flop so... *grin*.
They plan to send pictures so soon either Natalie or I will have a picture to post! For those that don't know, Christina is my little sister, who wasn't so little yesterday, but has abruptly lost a lot of weight!

Hurray! I'm so excited for my kids to have a cousin on the Smith side! I think it's great that Paige will have a little friend to play with, too.
Yes, I do tend to be... right. Most of the time. I guess I've always been a bit of a know-it-all -- dare I say, just like Joel? And with two know-it-alls in the family, you know there's friction sometimes. I have to say, though, that Joel does have his fair share of being right, too, so it evens out pretty well. Especially when he agrees with me! :)
Joel is finally an uncle. He's the only one of my kids who wasn't an aunt or uncle. I know it sounds strange, but think about it.
I'm no longer the only one with Smith-grandkids :)
I haven't been an uncle on the Smith side, but have on the Baird. Little Trevor (the only one who can talk) has called me Uncle Joel. It's actually a very nice warm fuzzy feeling! Now I can hear it from both sides!
So Natalie isn't always right. She couldn't answer the question "How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck, could chuck wood?" Now I'm probably not right either because my comma use might be off...
Alrighty, enough of this tangent! Yay again for Nick and Christina!
about three cords.
Aye Joel, but now you're a blood uncle! Erm... you know what I mean! You weren't before, so Da's right about that!
Wow, this is quite the tangent with woodchucks and all that....
I'm glad to see a post about baby Mia! She's still doing wonderfully. She's a little pooping machine, going through more diapers than we ever thought possible, but I guess that's a good sign. She's starting to gain in the thighs, Natalie!!!
