How to Make a Blog

My cousin, Becky Owens, asked me how to do a blog, and this is what I told her:

So, creating a blog is the easiest thing in the world! There are a ton of options available, but we chose to do a free one through blogger.com because I have a friend who's on there. If you're interested, it's totally simple to do. Here's the process:

1. Create a google account. If you already have a gmail account, that's what I'm talking about. This step is OPTIONAL -- you can also create an account using your e-mail address, but that means that you've got to enter the entire e-mail address every time. I simplified the process by creating a gmail account with our name. If you want to sign in this way, you just go to google.com and click on gmail (on my browser it's at the top of the page). Set up an account using their prompts.

2. Name your blog. This is tricky! I wanted to do something nobody else was doing, thinking outside the box. I may have something less-original, but it's true enough that it really describes our life right now.

3. Choose a template. Blogger.com has a TON of different options available -- you can be as trendy or as conservative as you choose. In fact, you can change your template anytime you choose, and everything is still available. Plus, you can customize your template; you just have to play around in the settings.

Okay, that's it! And one of the steps is optional -- how easy is that?! Now, the trickiest part of doing a blog is DOING the blog...
