I am a SURVIVOR

So, I haven't been following Survivor this season, but I was looking for something to watch last night and checked it out...

They always have such funny challenges. I've recently been trying to figure out how to copy some of them for upcoming Primary Activities. Some definitely wouldn't work, but I think we could do some of the relay ones, and some of the figure-out-what-this-word-says ones.

But the point is, last night I was watching, and it was "Fans" (of Survivor) vs. "Favorites" (previously on the show). The "Fans" weren't doing so well opening up some locks with a keyring with all their keys on it, but all of a sudden it was a girl's turn -- named Natalie! I thought that was pretty funny, considering my dream*. She opened her lock really quickly, and then tossed the keyring to -- Joel! No lie, that was his name! Too, too funny. What are the chances, eh?

* For those of you who haven't heard, I had a dream once that I was chosen to be a contestant for Survivor. The dream occurred when Paige was about three months old, so I guess I already WAS a Survivor! But in the dream I remembered about Paige, and I was so sad to tell them I couldn't do it -- but they were really, really nice and said that I could come on the show the next season, because having a nursing baby was definitely an okay reason to postpone my appearance! Yeah, right -- in my dreams!

p.s. I have never wanted to be on Survivor. Too many gross things to eat!

I can see the call now...
"Joel Smith, you've been selected to go on Survivor!"
"Really! That's swell!"
"We have some consent forms and legal waivers for you to sign..."
"Wow. I'm just surprised, that's all."
"We get that a lot."
"No, I mean with me having diabetes..."
"Oh. Sorry, you don't qualify, don't call us we'll call you *click*"

Reminds me of the conversation I had with the Marine Corp Recruiter when I turned 18...

No, really, I just made that connection because it was her and then him -- and I have a vested interest in "Natalie & Joel" :)
