Washcloth,
Little piece of
Leftover towel,
Once I had
No use for you.
You were
No more than
Extraneous linen,
Good only for a
Rag.
Today
You make my
Babies' faces shiny --
Clean enough for
Kissing.

I love it! Doesn't rhyme, but poetry doesn't have to.
I need to get me a washcloth so my face can be shiny and clean too... and you can kiss me... ;-)
The cheese will never die!
LOVE YOU Honey-smoocheroo-kins!
Oh, my poobely-bear, I lovey-wovey you, too!!
Gah! This may be the LAST time I read the comments! Although I should talk.......
I liked it too! I personally like it better when poetry DOESN'T rhyme!
So here's the question...why did you choose to write poetry about a washcloth??
You SHOULD write poetry . . . and publish it in a book called "Poetry Mommies will Like".
It made me smile. Thanks!
Becky;) ~Natalie Smith, I had better see more of this kind of stuff!! =) Everything you write uplifts and strengthens mothers everywhere. Would that we all could find silly and funny things in every day as you seem to do--and more importantly, that you point out to and share with your children. Love Ya tons!
Yeah, Joel can be pretty goofy sometimes -- as his siblings can attest! But let me just say, if he's going to be extreme, you'd rather have him say stuff like that than us have a sad marriage. Too true.
Okay, if the truth must come out... I was taking a bath the other day, and started thinking about how much I used to hate washcloths (washclothes?) because I didn't have any use for them... and also how I'd used THREE already that day on Paige's face! Every time I wash someone's face with a washcloth, I always give them a kiss and say, "There's a clean face I love to kiss!" And it's true -- just-washed baby face is so sweet to smooch!
*snort*
I LOVE it...
How sweet! I love kissing a clean baby face, that's for sure! You should write a book of poetry!!!
