Reading and Writing

Yesterday, Parker and Stewart had a lesson on the family tree by the ward geneologist, or whatever they're called now. Parker was filling out his family group chart, and he wrote for his dad: Joel (backwards J, correct e). And he wrote mine: Nbdlye (I'm pretty sure the b was a backwards a, because he wrote a backwards a for his name). That's pretty good sounding out! He's been "reading" lately, and doing a pretty good job -- he practices all the time -- but I feel like this is even the next step. Good work, kiddo!

They're called Ward Family History Consultants. Hey, I agree with Melissa. What happened to the wrinkly little cutie?

I remember my beloved name on his lips: "kkkkwkwkkkkwkkwkw" (or however you spell that atrocious throaty sound). I can't believe he's growing so fast!

Goodness, what a cutie. Do you know that my boys didn't even know my first name until late last year? ha, ha! Good for him that he even knew your name! And really, isn't the sounding-out and pre-spelling part the funniest part about learning to read/write? I am always amazed at children when I see them doing it. They seem so little and so grown-up, all at once.
