A Good Mama is Hard to Come By
I've had the flu and been in bed this week. I never thought I'd say this, but I am pretty tired of laying in bed and reading books! Since I've had so much time on my hands, I realize that I'm a pretty good Mama. Those kiddos have really missed me -- I can tell every time Joel comes in with Kimball he STRAINS to come over to me. But I really do a lot for them, day in and day out, and most of what I do all day long (even when they're in bed) is to enrich their lives. That being said, I have to say that Joel is a pretty great Mama. He has really stepped up this week, because I've really been so, so sick. He's been so patient, and loving -- with both the kids AND with me -- and hasn't begrudged a minute of it. Hurray for Joel -- Mom of the Year??!!

Sorry you have the Martian Death Flu. Nasty stuff! And that Joel . . . He's one good-lookin' mama, ain't he?
So sorry you've had to endure this terrible flu, but sometimes this sort of thing helps everyone to appreciate each other more. You apreciate Joel, Joel appreciates you, the kids miss and appreciate you--everyone wins! (Except, of course, that you feel lousy!) Glad you're doing better-and hope you got some dinner on Saturday!

Good boy--leaving it open so it's either your own mother or your wife. (I'm sure it's your wife because she's an amazing mama!)
If I'm mistaken for Mom of the Year, I'm going to have to give Joel a talkin' to! You are both amazing, and have, not that I'm biased, but awesome kids. They are so cute and lovely and 'exciting'. ;)
