Almost Famous

We're alive and well -- just busy! And I'm finally posting.

Sooo... One of the things that has been keeping me busy is my friend, Emily. She designs quilt patterns and Michael Miller fabric. (For those of you who don't know, Michael Miller is one of the name-brand quilting fabrics out there.) She is a great girl, SO much fun and a great chatter! :) Well, the other day she gave away a TON of fabrics from her stash, and I really wanted to give something back. I knew she was working like CRAZY in preparation for International Quilt Market -- a semi-annual quilting conference -- and I told her I totally could do anything, from folding patterns to sewing a quilt top in her new line. To be honest, that's what I totally was hoping for -- and that's what she asked me to do! It's a pattern she's had for a while, called Rock Star, and on the picture at the bottom of this post is the version I did: Market Mayhem. Do you see it??? Click on the picture to make it big -- it's the one with the red arrow, at the back of the booth and just a little to the right, in between a basketball jersey and some tennis rackets. I think it's so much cuter in this fabric!

And, front-and-center, which you can't see but I can totally tell, is a little Dresden plate mini quilt I did with my scraps. It turned out SOOOO cute! I secretly didn't want to give it to her -- but I really did make it for HER, because I thought it was another good way to show off her fabrics. This is what it looks like:

That is a great pattern! My mom used to make quilts because we were poor. Much better to make them for fun.

Another example of your creativity to the EXTREME! I love how colorful they are.
