In the midst of my 40,000 Chrismtas projects (yeah, I might be going a little overboard this year...), I decided to add another one to the list when I saw this post from my friend, Lu. I love
the tradition she started, I loved a quilt pattern she made, and I thought the two would go together beautifully. So, here's what I came up with, using Lu's pattern and only scraps:

I love the way it's so snuggly! And it drapes really well, too.

Kimball loves it, too

-- in fact, all the kids do. We did a drawing to see who would get the quilt the first night, and Kimball lucked out. Then Paige, then Stewart, and tonight it's Parker's turn. It was totally a random drawing, but they got chosen in opposite birth order! We decided to make it less of a contest, and more a reward -- if they did the service, then they got to do it if their name was chosen. I love that they're doing more service -- they're all trying harder to come up with different ideas, and it's so great! I really think service at Christmas-time exemplifies the reason for the season.

Looks very comfy! And it looks like Kimball agrees!
Ooh, are those olives? :) No wonder he loves it! I REALLY like that quilt Nat and am amazed you can just make up a pattern and go with it.
Correction -- I actually purchased my friend's pattern -- but I love it, too!
Can I put my name in the drawing?
Something tells me Kimball is an old softie. Having a drawing was a great idea. No favoritism there!
