Questionnaire

I have a cousin, Sharee Jeffs, who gave me this questionnaire, and I thought I'd share it with my public (hee hee). Maybe you'll learn something new about me!

Hometown:
Evanston, WY

What is your job title and description?
Mama :) -- on websites I say I'm the VP of New Production, although I'm going to have to change that now that we're done having kids. Maybe the VP of Product Development?

If you could change anything in the world what would it be and why?
I wish there were three-day weekends! Just add another day in there for family fun, I would love it!

If you could meet anyone (living or dead) who would it be and why?
I would love to meet my great-grandparents again -- all of them.

What is your happiest childhood memory?
I had so many! I think one of the happiest is my first one. I was only about 18 months old, and we went to a farm, and I remember holding a little baby chickie in my hand. It was so soft, and it's little feet poked my hand just a little, and I just loved it!

What are the three material possessions you value most?
Hmmm... this is a toughie. I have some books that I LOVE on a high shelf, and a sewing machine, and a hidden stash of chocolate for emergencies. You know the kind I mean.

It’s 8:00 p.m., what are you doing?
Sending the boys to bed and breathing a sigh of relief, because I have survived another day. Or, if I haven't actually survived it, having a pity cry. Or, VERY rarely, on a date with Joel!

What is your favorite comfort food?
Lately I have been loving hot chocolate -- no marshmallows! A sweet lady in our neighborhood gave us some by Cold Stone Creamery, and IT. IS. SO. DANG. GOOD.

If you could go anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
I would love to visit France -- I spent 5 years studying that language, and I would love to go see how that part of the world works. Ironically, my first foreign country will probably be Russia, because my sister and I have an evil plan to go to Sochi together for the 2014 Olympics!!

What is the best advice you’ve ever been given? Who gave it to you?
My mom once said that sometimes a baby just needs to cry, because that's the only exercise they can get. It has stopped a lot of "mommy guilt" for me, when I've done everything I could to stop the crying!

If you could have any wish granted, what would it be?
I wish someone would come organize my house for me so I don't have to do it! I love to HAVE things organized, but during the last 9 years we've been having babies fast enough that there just doesn't seem to be enough time (or enough of a priority to make time) to organize the house to the hilt. I get that my season of life is changing, though, so I really hope we can get our act together here soon. Like, REALLY soon. Like, I told my husband that all I want for Christmas was a clean house, soon.

What is one beauty product you can’t live without?
CONTACTS!!!

What is your favorite thing about yourself?
Oooh, this is another tough one. Externally, I think I am a really friendly person -- I have no problem making new friends and keeping the old ones. I think that's a by-product of moving around so much. Internally, I am really smart, and one of the ways that translates is by being crafty. I can copy almost anything just by looking at it or getting a pattern, and I almost always do great the first time. (One exception: free-motion quilting is kicking my trash!)

Describe yourself in one word.
Humble. Hee hee -- just kidding! I think that's hilarious, to say humble. No, my real answer is probably bright. I think I'm pretty bright, as in smart, but I also hope I'm bright, as in a bright and shining hope.

What scares you?
I have a really active imagination, so sometimes I scare myself enough that I have to race up the stairs (as quietly as possible because the kids are asleep!) and run down the hall to my room and jump on the bed -- because the rats/robbers/vampire will get me if I don't.

What is your favorite restaurant?
Olive Garden -- LOOOOOOVE the breadsticks and salad.

What is your favorite time of day and why?
I love the early afternoon after a nap, when I can look out the window and watch the clouds roll by for a few minutes before the race begins again. (This has only happened a few times, but it's totally my favorite!)

What is your biggest pet peeve?
When I'm trying to print something from the computer and it prints wrong. It's such a waste of money!

What is your favorite movie and why?
I have WAY too many favorites to choose just one, but I really love "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" for an old one, and "The Tourist" for a new one. Oooh, and we just watched "Super 8", and it had a ton of language, but it was AMAZING. J.J. Abrams ROCKS.

What is your favorite memory we have shared?
This is the easiest question! I thought it was so fun when you came to visit me at college and stayed over. I felt like your big sister! I totally loved your short, short, short hair -- I've never been brave enough to try it, although in 2009 I did go pretty short. And, can I just say, you were SOOOO boy-crazy! :)

I'm humble, too! :)
I wish I could be as good at crafts as you, that's one wish I have. I guess we all have our strengths and weaknesses.

Sounds like you know yourself well. I would like to see Joel's answers as well.

Marcie, I don't do anything too hard -- you could totally do ANYTHING I do! Just let me know if you want help with anything, and I'd be happy to play with you. :) I'll try to call next time I do something and see if you want to do it, too.
