Cabin Fever! (part three)

Stuart made breakfast again Saturday morning, and we had a mountain man breakfast casserole (with ham, bacon, AND sausage!) and the BEST bhttp://joelandnatalie.blogspot.com/2013/02/cabin-fever-part-two.html">iscuits -- I love biscuits so much!!

We had a bunch to do Saturday -- binding my quilt, and our cutest make-and-take yet -- a sweet little sewing bag with magnetic closure. I LOVE my fabrics! And it really wasn't too hard -- as long as you followed directions. My outside is just a little funny because I had the fusible fleece on the lining, oops.

I think it's still pretty cute, though!

And our final lunch was pizza and leftovers - so, so good! I even found a leftover Scotch-a-roo for dessert! And then Kati "From the Blue Chair" (her quilting chair, apparently) came for a trunk show. She was by far the most "modern" quilter, but I loved hers, too!

These first two are actually the same quilt -- front and back.  I didn't get a lot of fronts & backs, but these two definitely demonstrate Kati's way of thinking -- if they're not great "blender" fabrics (e.g., fabrics that blend well with almost anything else), then they get put into the back of the quilt.  It's sort of a two-for-one deal, and cheaper on the batting that way. :)

After I finally finished binding, I took the walk of glory. At the cabin, there was this loft area where a bunch of the ladies were all set up for sewing, but it was a great place to show off your finished... whatever. A lot of ladies had finished a couple of quilt tops, some finished quilts they'd already worked on, and a couple of us actually finished a whole quilt. So, I got to show off my "finished" quilt!

I am still going to add a little detail work, but as a quilt it would be completely functional as-is today! And I think it's really, really sweet. Somehow, the colors are a little funny in this picture, because it is absolutely one of those quilts that are cuter in person. :) I think Baby ______? will love it so much!

I remembered to get my Utah Truffle bar out of the fridge, and then it was home again, home again, jiggity-jog. I was a little homesick for my kiddos and honey, so it was so nice to come home to them! Joel had even kept up on the house pretty good, so we were almost ready for Sunday -- how's that for treating me good?! He had to go to the adult session of Stake Conference, so I put all my babies to bed and it felt so good to snuggle them into their covers and kiss them goodnight. As a retreat and a vacation, the cabin was perfect -- as long as I got to come back to "real life" when I was done!

UPDATED: I finished! Here's the cute finish, with detail pics:
