Moving Day

by NATALIE

I know this may come as a big surprise to most of our family, but I'm really serious -- it's time for us to move again. I know it's a silly reason to move, but I've just gotten fed up with our house. We've really tried to make it work, but without going into detail, there are just some things that aren't working out for us as a family.

Starting in January -- I'm being realistic about my expectations for the holidays -- I'm going to box up all our belongings (except clothing, although I plan on going through that) and get ready to move. We've acquired so much in this house! And since there's really no pressure to sell our house -- this is a totally unmandatory move -- I'm really ready to get things properly organized. I'm hoping we can get everything boxed up for March 1, but realistically I suppose it had better be April.

That being said, I'm happy to report that we're not moving far -- in fact, it's where we now live. Yes, my friends -- I've decided to move back into our current house. I've decided that I just don't know enough about how we use our house until we've lived there for a while, so we didn't move the "right" way. And the right way for us may not be the same for someone else. It's going to be a really big job, but I've got a timeline going, and I'll be putting all projects on hold after the new year until this one is finished -- so if you're having a baby, expect something from Walmart or Target! I'm just so sick of having things so disorganized all the time. In fact, there are a few boxes we've never unpacked -- a situation I'm sure many have experienced -- and I think it's time to stop being a storage facility. I feel that it really impedes me as a wife and mother not to know where things are, and in the end I just need to have things under tighter control. That being said, I know that things will never be perfect, or even perfectly organized, but I feel that if I have a "place for everything, and everything in its place" I'll be a lot happier girl!

Hehe, you kidder, Natalie! You're getting a kick out of family and friends thinking "What in the world?!" before getting toward the bottom.

It will be nice to move in the right way. :-)
