The kids & I went up to Evanston for a couple of days, and got to preview Dad's mill. The boys were pretty enthralled. They especially liked this kid named Scooter who was driving a backhoe -- Stewart kept asking if " 'cootow" was at Grandpa Baird's work.
Parker's preschool class goes on a field trip once every month. The first one they had, they went to the pet store. This time, I volunteered to help drive kids to the FIRE STATION!!! It was really exciting -- two firemen gave us a pretty great tour. Miss Julie invited Stewart to come, too, and he was in heaven. Parker was the first one to say they used a hose to squirt water on the fire, and the first one to try on the fireman's uniform. Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, we weren't able to get a picture of that. Stewart got to try on the fireman helmet, too. At the end of the tour, the kids in the class were able to go inside the ambulance, which was pretty great. It was a great time!
(p.s. Parker's first crush (!!!) Zoey, is the furthest girl sitting down to the right, wearing a pink shirt)

Here's the whole family at the pumpkin patch. We had such a fun time! They had a hay maze for little kids, and they gave us some pruners to use to cut our own pumpkins. Joel and Parker chose really big ones, Stewart chose the very first one he saw, I chose a really round one. We decided that Paige was too little this year to really care about pumpkins, so we didn't get her one (also, we parked REALLY far away, and didn't want to carry another one that far!).

On the 21st we went to Ft. Bridger to Carter's baby blessing. He was so cute -- and I didn't get a single picture of him! Oops. But we did get this one of Mom & Dad's little family all together. It was pretty cold, so we all look... cold.
That day, while we were eating supper, Paige burned her right hand on the fireplace. She got every fingertip, and a little part of her palm. Everyone felt just awful about it, but it really wasn't anyone's fault -- we all thought we were watching her pretty good, and she got to the stove. So, after a trip to the Emergency Room in Evanston, she was doing well enough to bang her bandaged hand on Mom's faux-marble table -- which made us all feel a little sick, because it looked like it would have hurt even without the burns! Thank goodness for Lortab, I guess. Over the course of the next few days, we kept her hand wrapped up in that stretchy, self-sticking ace-bandage stuff (there's a name for it, I just don't know what it is!), and now her skin is almost healed. Babies really are resilient!
On the 23rd, I got this picture -- which is now my favorite one of Paige! She was so happy and smiley, and then she started yelling, and I got a picture mid-squawk.
(I love it so much that I cropped it and put it on the heading of this blog!)
A few days later, we all went back to Ft. Bridger to the Micheli Ranch Bull Sale. It was so exciting -- one of the bulls almost got away! We got to see everyone in action, and even got a few good ones of Trevor & Abby.
Real cowboys!
Niki vacuuming the bulls -- that's how they get them
clean for the showing!
